2022 Tennessee High School State Champions
Joining the 2026-27 Team
We form our teams in May for the upcoming school year as the season begins shortly after we return to school.
There will be 2 Information Meetings:
Sunday, April 12th at 3:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 3rd at 3:00 p.m.
Both meetings will be at Gallatin High School in room 5114. You will drive to the back of the school (the end closest to Kroger) and look for the door with the Fishing Team's logo on the door.
Each student MUST have a parent or guardian with them.
You only have to attend one of the meetings as they are for information only. A separate meeting will follow for those who decide they want to join the team.
Gallatin Fishing Team
The Gallatin Fishing Team is an organization for those students and adult volunteers interested in competitive bass fishing.
Open to:
High school students, middle school students, and elementary students with consultation.
Adults who want to volunteer to mentor and supervise students in various events and community service projects.
What is High School and Junior Competitive Bass Fishing:
Students can choose to compete in regional, state or national tournaments. Some students compete in a few tournaments for fun while other students acquire points that may qualify them to compete in championship tournaments at the different levels.
Regional tournaments are held at various lakes within a portion of the state. State Trail tournaments are held across the state. National tournaments can be located in any state.
Teams consist of two student anglers and an adult boat captain.
High school teams compete against other high school teams. Junior teams compete against other junior teams.
Cost:
As expected there is an expense for gas, travel, housing and equipment.
There are team dues. A Bassmaster membership is required.
Participation to fundraise and solicit sponsorship to offset cost is expected.
